The Opioid Epidemic: The explosion in opioid abuse is never far from the national headlines but what is the actual and potential effect on insurers and reinsurers? Many lines of business are potentially impacted – general liability, products liability, workers’ compensation and medical malpractice to name a few. The cost to society is huge but how about to our industry? Mr. Kole is a true expert in this field and will be making a presentation not to be missed!
Mr. Kole is a partner in the Insurance & Reinsurance Group of his firm and is based in Boston, MA. He is a well-known figure in the reinsurance arbitration, litigation and complex claim fields acting on behalf of both cedents and reinsurers in multiple disputes. He is also an expert in insurance litigation, arbitration, ADR and coverages analyses on behalf of insurers in many areas such as mass tort as well as property and hurricane-related loses.

The next meeting of the REINSURANCE NETWORKING GROUP has now been rescheduled to WEDNESDAY JUNE 20, 2018. This session will be an update to Steve Schwartz’s June 2016 presentation now that the New York Court of Appeals has issued its decision in Global Reinsurance Corp. of America v. Century Indemnity Co. Mr. Schwartz hardly needs any introduction as he is a very well-known attorney and highly experienced in insurance and reinsurance related matters and we are very fortunate to have him present on this perennial and, once again, timely topic.
