Stonybrook Capital, a preeminent investment and merchant bank focused on the insurance sector, announced that Andrew Downing has joined the firm as the president of the newly formed Stonybrook Risk Management division. Mr. Downing will focus on providing value-added services to Stonybrook’s clients and prospects with an emphasis on the Insurance Carrier and MGA marketplace, InsurTech, Product Development, Alternative Risk, Captive Services, Reinsurance and Strategic Advisory.

Mr. Downing has over 25 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry and has held various positions at E.W. Blanch, Towers Perrin/Towers Watson and most recently JLT Re. Mr. Downing works closely with his clients and prospects to establish long-term profitable relationships throughout all phases of the insurance and reinsurance value chain.
Mr. Downing graduated from the Metropolitan State University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Communications.
